Eng. Benjamin K. Njenga, MBS

Benjamin was appointed as the Chairperson of the Kabete National Polytechnic Governing Council on 2nd April, 2026. Retired senior Public Officer previously working as the Secretary, Urban and Metropolitan Development in the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development. Graduate with a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi, an Executive MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and a Master of Arts degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. Professional and Practicing Individual Consulting Civil Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). On 12th December 2024, His Excellency the President awarded him the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.)

Pauline was appointed a member of the Kabete National Polytechnic Governing Council on 20th April, 2026.

Ms. Honey A. Mohamud

Ms. Honey A. Mohamud

Ms. Mohamud was appointed a member of the Kabete National Polytechnic Governing Council on 17th March 2023. She is a holder of Masters in Diplomacy and Foreign Policies Analysis from Moi University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University. She has several certificates and Diplomas from different Institutions in regards to Administration and Diplomacy. Ms. Mohamud previously worked at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi as the Unit Chief from Immigrant Visa Unit covering eight (8) countries. She also worked with Arid Lands and CRS Kenya, an American International Organization.

CPA Julius Obare Mokogi

Mr. Julius was appointed a member of the Kabete National Polytechnic Governing Council on 20th February 2026. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Science degree from Kenyatta University, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Public Secretary of Kenya. Mr. Julius has worked at commercial banks — KCB, Co-op Bank and Sidian Bank — holding various positions, was MD of Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE), and currently works as a consultant.

Mr. Gilbert K. Nyongi

Mr. Gilbert K. Nyongi

Mr. Gilbert K. Nyongi was appointed a member of the Kabete National Polytechnic on 17th March 2023. He holds a Master and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi. He is a lecturer of Kiswahili and Linguistics at Maseno University since 2003. Mr. Gilbert has served as a member and chair of Boards of several educational institutions and currently serves as Chair of the ETRI Council Committee.

CPA Patrick Mbehi Stom

CPA Patrick Mbehi Stom

Mr. Patrick is an accountant and a financial analyst. He is the alternate director to the Cabinet Secretary, National Treasury. He has worked at the National Treasury for over 12 years and is currently deployed in the directorate of Public Investment and Portfolio Management. Mr. Stom holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University, a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting option) from Moi University, and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and Certified Securities and Investment Analyst Part II. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) with a wealth of experience in Public Sector Financial Management, and has undertaken several work-improvement trainings, workshops and seminars on management and governance.

Dr. Joseph Njau
Council Member

Dr. Joseph Njau

Dr. Njau holds an MA in Project Planning & Management from the University of Nairobi; a Diploma in Technical Education from Kenya Technical Teachers College; a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Egerton University; and has completed the Senior Management Course and Strategic Leadership Development Programme at the Kenya Institute of Administration. He has held several dockets in the Government of Kenya, currently serving as Acting Secretary — TVET, and is an Alternate Council Member at KNQA and at Kabete National Polytechnic. Notable assignments include reviving the then-defunct TVET CDACC in 2023 as Acting CEO; serving in 2021 as interim Chair of the Ad-hoc Committee for the Kenya Engineering Technologists Registration Board (KETRB); chairing the committee for development and roll-out of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy framework; directing development of the Dual Training Policy; and membership of the technical teams behind the TVET Act (2013) review, Sessional Paper No. 1 of 2019, and the National Education Sector Strategic Plan (NESSP 2018–2022). He has also led donor-funded TVET projects including the GoK/Netherlands TVET project, the Kenya–Netherlands TIVET/ORET project, and the Support to Technical Industrial Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TIVET) GoK Project.

Mr. Timothy Odipo

Timothy Odipo serves as a Principal Economist within the Resource Mobilization Department of the Public Debt Management Office at the National Treasury. In this capacity, he directs the oversight and strategic management of development partner-funded programs. A specialist in fiscal sustainability, Mr. Odipo partners with diverse government ministries, departments and agencies to engineer innovative resource mobilization frameworks, with strategic interventions focused on diversifying revenue streams and systematically reducing institutional reliance on national exchequer funding.

Dr. Patrick W. Muchemi, OGW

Dr. Patrick Wokabi Muchemi, OGW, serves as the Chief Principal and Secretary to the Council of Kabete National Polytechnic, bringing over 31 years of distinguished leadership in Kenya's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. He joined the Polytechnic on 8th August 2023. A visionary and transformational leader, Dr. Muchemi has played a pivotal role in advancing institutional growth, strengthening industry linkages, and fostering global partnerships, and is a strong advocate for inclusive, competency-based skills development including the promotion of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). His extensive career spans senior leadership roles across key TVET institutions and national bodies, complemented by international engagements such as the Kenya–Qatar Skills Migration Programme. He is a recipient of the Presidential honour of the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW), among other national and international leadership awards, and holds a Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) from OCU University, USA, a Master's degree in Construction Engineering from the University of Eldoret, and a Bachelor's degree in Building Technology from Moi University.
